I really was hoping for a more heated debate between the candidates Thursday. I really want to see statements challanged and clarified. Also, if Bush was that flustered at Thursdays debate, one where Kerry could address him directly would leave him a quivering crying mess at the podium. That would amuse me.

It was nice to see Bush called to the mat on several issues.  Of course I was screaming at my television. I am sickened by politicians and their distortions and out and out lying. They all do it. I know it.

Bush said that they have 100000 Iraqi troops, police, special units, boarder patrol  trained up to date, will have 125k by the end of the year, and 200k by the end of next year. That sounds good. Unfortunately, only about 8000 are police who  have had a full 8 week course of training. The rest are recieving a 3 week training course. That is less training than I had to do my current job as a banker.

Bush once again claimed that Kerry stated he would have troops out of Iraq in 6 months, making it sound like Kerry is planning on jerking out troops and leaving Iraqi's hanging. Kerry never said that. He has however stated that he would be commited to finishing this war successfully, helping  Iraq. He has said that with a good exit strategy, we could start to draw out some troops by then and have the numbers significantly reduced in a year. That sounds promising and a lot better than Bush's extended occupation.

Bush said,  "My administration worked with the congress to create the department of homeland security."  Lying ass face. He opposed it for 9 months.

Bush claimed to have increased spending on curbing nuclear proliferation by 35% while in office. That is complete crap. He proposed about a $116 million dollar cut with his first budget proposal. Congress has been responsible for these spending increases.
What I don't understand, is how can he be republican, not that the Dems would have him. He spends like newly rich pop diva.
What the hell happened to States right and a smaller central government. At every turn, this administration is increasing central government. I could not be more disgusted with the current administration

The subways didn't stop while the RNC was going on. I heard Kerry say that and what thinking, "what the hell? How is it possible? Wouldn't that be detrimental to NYC that whole week?"  I had not heard that. That is because it didn't happen. What the hell was Kerry talking about?
Kerry also claimed the cost  so far in Iraq, or at least our spending in it is 200 billion. That number has yet to be supported. according to the  CBO it is about 120 billion.

quite a bit of this is researched at www.factcheck.org and www.spinsanity.com as well as other sources.
