Miers

I am highly amused at the people that I see doing a mini freak out not
because they are so opposed to Meirs based on her politics, experience or
voting history, *but mostly because the left doesn't hate her.*
*gasp!!! she must be wrong!!!! The left doesn't *hate* her*

I didn't really have any problems with Roberts. I was expecting someone like
Thomas to be nominated, so I was pleased as punch with Roberts. I don't have
anything against Miers. Her taste in friends and cohorts leaves a lot to be
desired, but other than that, I haven't heard anything that bothers me. I am
not exactly loaded down with respect for corporate trial lawyers to begin
with (I tend to see them as hired whores). However, there is nothing that is
sending me running to my PC to whip up a letter for my representative to
vote against her.

I was a little nervous when I heard that she had petitioned for the Bar
Association to repeal its support of Roe VS. Wade, but she wanted a neutral
stance on it, as opposed to a stance against it, so it could be worse.

I am hoping that we can get through another vote without everything getting
ugly again.
