Robert and I went to see a really neat movie last night. It is the second installment of a Trilogy (haven't seen the first) called Day Watch. The special effects were good, the story interesting, some witty scenes, and it definitely held my attention. I had a lot of questions afterwards, but that makes me want to rent or buy the first one. I look forward to watching the trilogy with Connor.

It is a Russian film and this is the English Trailer:

Because of it, I want to find a book and read about Tamerlane

also, it was interesting because I have been playing this game lately

I didn't even know my sweetie was a gear head. He drives a gas guzzling Lincoln Aviator that gets something like a mile and a half to the gallon. That is not good in Houston which is really spread out. He has been wanting to buy a little cash car that he can putz around in instead of the truck. I had no idea how little he was talking about. He found this 1971 (year that we were born) Triumph Spitfire on Craigslist. When he brought it to my office to show me (when I took this photo) a guy drove by admiring it and asked if it was for sale. Heh.

Nifty enough, he found a few boxes of restoration stuff in the trunk. The engine is good. One of the seats is a leather one in labulous condition and the other one is comeplete crap. The ride was a nice one, but was hot. There is no air conditioning. It feels like you are riding with your butt on the ground. Veeeeeery low.

The funniest part was walking out and seeing Rob, who is 6'3"-6'4" standing next to this tiny british import. Funnier even was watching him get in and out. I am sure watching me get in and out is even funnier.

I am fond of second hand stores (not nearly as fond as my sister though.) A lot of the art on our walls is stuff we have found at second hand stores and estate sales.  We have to sift through a lot of horrid crap, but every now and then we find a treasure and pay under $20 bucks for it.  Saturday we went to The Guild Shop and Connor and I looked about while Fini sifted through bad art. Karen didn't find anything she wanted to buy, but Connor found a marble egg that matches his room and I found a set of 5 coasters that are the same as one that my mother had. They are cut glass and silver plated. Thanks to information found watching How Clean is Your House I shined them up with toothpaste and a soft cloth. They are now shiny and beautiful and my wood is protected.
