I have been having to deal a lot lately with people (more than just the usual one or two I have) feeling and saying that they are these fabulous people that handle EVERYTHING and no one else does anything. There hasn't been a single time when I have looked at and examined the situations where the person making such a claim was correct.
I don't even say anything. There is usually nothing I could say to change the mind of these people if they are in this place to begin with, and I dislike confrontation. I usually can't think of a way to explain it to them without being insulting or ugly anyway.
So what is the deal? Are they just unable to see anyone else's contribution or are they just so bloated with self importance that they believe that no one else could POSSIBLY get anything done without them? Does anyone else deal with this?
