This Summer, Connor and I went to my friend Tina's house for the baby shower for her daughter, Amber. Amber had a rough, high risk pregnancy and this would be her last baby. She was about 2 weeks from her due date and there was a Hurricane on the way. The weekend before, we were there for her first baby's 1st birthday. My friend Tina is a fabulous grandmother. She is involved and is just over the moon about her grandchild and was so excited to meet baby Alexzander.

Amber had Alexzander soon after Hurricane Ike. Sunday morning, I logged on to check my email and Tina had sent out a message letting a few of us know that 3 month old Alexzander had died 12/11 of a new strain of flu.

Tina is a strong woman. She has a rough exterior, but she is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I have ever known. She always reminded me of my sister, Linda. She is also incredibly big hearted and sensitive. She is holding it together for her husband and her daughter, but this has got to be killing her.

I cannot even imagine what they are going through. Tina just lost her sister last year. That I understand. I lost my sister to cancer as well in 2003. But a baby... I cannot wrap my head around that.

It is a hard thing to order flowers for a 3 month old's funeral.

Scam victims: Finance giants count losses

List of potential victims in what is said to be a massive Ponzi scheme run by money manager Bernard Madoff continues to grow.

"Conviction could net 20-year sentence

Madoff faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $5 million fine if he is convicted."

Doesn't that seem light? Shouldn't he get hit in the groin with a brick in a sock every day, too? Hell, a Paraplegic in GA was given a seven year sentence for selling weed.
