lovely Houston is up in murders, and burglaries. Some are speculating Katrina evacuees, certainly poverty is a big factor. My neighborhood, (or where I am across from) is down and is one of the lowest neighborhood in crime across the board. Whew. It is just all so depressing to look at though.

I'm watching Andy Cooper right now and he's in Looserana...talking about how hardly anything's been rebuilt or cleaned up in certain areas after three months...looks like KanYe West was right, Bush doesn't care about black people, or poor people.

Yep. This is why I left Houston. The gap between the haves and have nots seems to be ever expanding, and opportunities to get out seem harder and harder to reach.
People around the country who think, "Screw the poor," are really screwing themselves. They just don't realize what happens when people get desperate and have nothing to lose.
