He has definitely improved, though I think part of also has to do with his new style having an obvious manga-style influence whereas the previous one did not.

You could already tell his growing talent in art in the first image - the realization that a robot needs a shadow, etc. is excellent.

when i was 9 i drew better than all the kids in my class.
now i'm 25, and still draw better than most 9 year olds.

*shrug* I look at kids art all the time (not to mention I'm really considering becoming an art teacher) so I notice when someone does something most kids at their age don't grasp as easily. What's also nice (and harder to explain) is how everything is relatively going in the correct direction (limbs, the angle of feet, blasts, etc.)

wow he's gotten really good. are there any art schools in your area? I went to a magnet school for performing and visual arts and I loved it.

There might be some. I know he can take it after school . The rule is, I choose his electives (has to take a spanish class) and he can choose whatever classes he wants for after school
