Lieberman, you ass
Sep. 4th, 2008 09:29 am" In the Senate, during the three-and-a-half years that Senator Obama has been a member, he has not reached across party lines to get accomplish anything significant." - Lieberman
Okay, except that is a lie. He worked with Tom Coburn (R) to write Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006, and Lugar (R) to keep weapons out of terrorists' hands .
He also claimed that Obama was "voting to cut off funding for our American troops on the battlefield" except that he has voted in favor of war-funding bills at least 10 times since becoming a senator. There is the one vote they can site (but it is because Bush vetoed the previous bill that also called for a date for withdrawal from Iraq, but most Republicans voted against that same bill. (not McCain, because he didn't vote for that bill, but urged Bush to veto it)

Any unbiased thoughts on Palin? I wanted to listen to her speak, but 10 minutes in her accent was like nails on a chalkboard to me. I thought she addressed the family issues very well, but as we all know, those were not her words. So, basically I like her speech-writers.
Kinda off topic, but doesn't Obama's healthplan and tax cut plan seem a little pie-in-the-sky to you? It would be great if he could actually pull it off, but come on. It's a little much.

Date: 2008-09-04 07:44 pm (UTC)The voice is rough. I can just barely stand listening to her (but Hillary's isn't a treat either).
She didn't address the things that matter much to me as a voter. There is nothing in the republican party that addresses how they are going to help the middle class of which I am a member.
Obama made a LOT of promises, and it concerns me that he may not be able to make good on them.
But sweet chocolate christ, I appreciate that they WANT to try to do something about it. I am worrying about how I am going to afford my kid's medication each month because I am now without insurance (applying for CHIP, though).
All I recall Palin addressing is oil and her family.
