Connor was sluggish this morning. I asked if he wanted coffee. He said, "I think I could use a cup. I need something to get me going." I jokingly made him a cup of coffee with a ton of cream in his little cup he drinks his green tea out of. He said, "Mmmmmmmmmm. Tastes like a latte."

Sheesh. Like mother like son. I used to drink coffee starting at age 8 at my sister's house in Arkansas when Fini and I would stay the summer. Think he needs to go back to green tea though. He already takes adderral.

sheesh. little junkie

Hell. .mine is hyper.. takes medication for it, as do I. We both have ADHD, so does my 49 year old brother and one of my nephews and a cousin.
Our gene pool needs some chlorine.
Actaully the medication we take for it is a stimulant. Caffien doesn't have a big affect on us. Even so, I really limit his intake. I make sure his green tea is decaf usually. Hard to find at a restaurant.

shush.. It was mostly cream.

not a daily thing.

He is a tea drinker anyway. And the green tea we have in the house for him is decaf

I know of another kid with ADHD and yes caffine does the opposite for him. It calms him down enough to concentrate. Kids father wanted to find some of the cafinated water to try once.

People with ADHD tend to self medicate with caffine, and a few dumb bastards do it with much much stronger stimulants. Not me. I like having teeth and a job, so I stick with the concerta, and I am sure you recall my obsession with the dark bean

yeah, yeah, but the dark bean comes in many different colors, flavors, and aromas........mine had the chocolate mix in there....yum, the need was great for flavor, not awakedness.

nah. I like the creamy bitter variety.

Only every now and then do I dig sugar in it, and the chocolate gets in my way..
That should be served on the side with a peanut butter middle....

damned my fat ass and chocolate love.

In the most comprehensive review and analysis of the effects of caffeine abstinence in humans published to date, the researchers conclude that as little as one small cup of coffee daily can produce caffeine addiction.

In general, the more caffeine consumed, the more severe withdrawal symptoms will be, with some people even reporting depression, nausea, vomiting or muscle pain.

Results of the study could result in caffeine withdrawal’s inclusion in the next edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, or DSM — considered the bible of the psychiatric profession.
