Something that bothers me that perhaps should not:

When I am in
the restroom at work, almost everytime, there is someone that is sitting
on the toilet, talking on their cell phone. I know it is none of my
business, and doesn't affect me at all. The talking doesn't bother me, so
it is really none of my concern. But it does bother me. Each time I just
think, how gross are you? Does that person that you are
talking to care that they are listening to you pee?
I know that you can hear it, because I have customers
that call me while releiving themselves in the restroom.

Do men do
this? Does anyone else think this is über tacky?

hahahaha yeah i've heard people do that in public restrooms and i think its hilarious..

theres only like 2 people in the world i will talk to while i am peeing.. one is my mom, the other is alishea.. i have that "comfort" level with them, but i'd never do it in a public restroom

I think it is rude unless you are on very intimate terms with the person on the other end and it's cool with him/her. And yes, unfortunately, I've observed this in men's lavatories and not just at the urinal but also in the stalls.

I don't do it. If I'm on a call and suddenly find myself needing to relieve myself, I ask the person to hold and then activate the mute function. If I'm going to be longer than a few seconds, I tell them I'll call htem right back. That's just really nasty.

Then again, I don't like to use the restroom for anything more than urinating or washing my hands when I know other people are close by.

I'm torn on that method... I mean, is it really any better for people to think you're shitting your own weight in fecal matter? Why else would you flush 4 or 5 times?

i would never ever do that, i hate when it happens. i dont even like talking to SOMEONE else that is IN the restroom with me at the time.....

Ewwwww.... that's just really gross. I think if someone called me while relieving themselves I'd have to ask them questions about it to make them uncomfortable!

i have been guilty of this in the past, but not just random people. usually it's someone i'm kinda close to. Like when i'm on the phone with my sister or my mother, or something like that. I'm not gonna call in to work on the toilet, though. And i'm not going to talk to a client while i'm taking a dump. that is just TACKY. not to mention really fucking disgusting.

If I'm having a good conversation on the phone and I have to use the bathroom, I will usually go but put the phone on mute when I go and flush. Ummm....yeah.

when your a busy bidness man like myself, phone calls stop for nothing... ive been known to talk to people while taking a shower. my old phone had the handsfree feature... lol

I have had the same thought. Especially when folks are at home and you can hear the toilet flushing in the background. My step-mom does that, as well as one of my sisters. I say, if you have to go..excuse yourself and call the person back. But don't take them in the restroom with you. Ugh!
