She stepped up on the bus with her hands full with her coffee and her mp3 player. She stuck her pass in the reader and it said expired. She told the bus driver she would be right back. Passing an old man sitting hunched over halfway into the isle, the bag on her shoulder nearly knocked him in the head. The breeze from the bag rushing past blew his sparse white hair and his face twisted into a scowl. She found the pass that was valid and walked to the front of the bus and fed it in. As she walked back, sans bag, the old man bleated at her, "Why don't you sit down?! You almost took off my head!" She looked at him with disdain but bit her tongue, thinking it best to just let it go. But the old man kept on bitching. Ranting in his annoying voice about people having no manners and not watching out for people when they walk past. She glared at him growing more annoyed with his ridiculous rolled up jeans, a la Wally Cleaver, and his hot pink socks and brown shoes. Her head was hurting and he was getting louder.

She finally couldn't take it any longer and shot out, "Why don't you have a nice hot cup of shut-the-fuck-up, you hunchbacked hobgoblin!" He looked like she slapped him with the words.

He gathered up his venom again and started back in.He called her a bitch and went on with his rant. He was getting louder and louder and now he had worked himself up so there was spittle foam forming at the corners of his mouth and the mucous was slapping around the back of his throat.

"You are awfully mouthy for an old man who can taste death on his tongue with every slack jawed breath ." She said. "Perhaps you should quit before I trip you down the stairs and watch your brittle old ass shatter"

(still working on ending. ........)

MESSAGE DATED APRIL 11, 2505

Hey there! Somehow I got onto my friends page from here on Mars. If you want to know what's been going on, check out my last two entries. I've certainly gone through the looking glass and fallen down the rabbit hole this time! That is, if they got through. Let's just say the future isn't what it's all cracked up to be.

Just in case you thought I have gone off the deep end, I'm doing that Rabbit Hole thing too. When I saw this, I thought you might be doing it, so that's why I posted it the way I did! lol

I'm not insane, just crazy! lol

That Rabbit Tree thing...

Can't remember exactly where I saw this first, but I thought this would be fun to do. So this explains what I've been up to today:

January 27th is the birthday of Lewis Carrol, author of ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND. Alice fell down a rabbit hole into a place where everything had changed and none of the rules could be counted on to apply anymore.

I say, let's do the same: January 27th, 2005 should be the First Annual LiveJournal Rabbit Hole Day. When you post on that Thursday, instead of the normal daily life and work and news and politics, write about the strange new world you have found yourself in for the day, with its strange new life and work and news and politics.

Are your pets talking back at you now? Has your child suddenly grown to full adulthood? Does everyone at work think you're someone else now? Did Bush step down from the White House to become a pro-circuit tap-dancer? Did Zoroastrian missionaries show up on your doorstep with literature in 3-D? Have you been placed under house arrest by bizarre insectoid women wielding clubs made of lunchmeat?

Let's have a day where nobody's life makes sense anymore, where any random LJ you click on will bring you some strange new tale. Let's all fall down the Rabbit Hole for 24 hours and see what's there. It will be beautiful.

Oh ok. Hell, I probably saw it in your journal and decided to do it, now that I think about it.

Hope you aren't too freaked out by my story. I've decided to devote my journal to the story all day, because once I found out about this, the idea for the story came to me and the creative juices just started flowing like crazy! It's a very rough draft, as I am basically writing it on the fly.

Have a great evening!

I'm guessing you had an interesting ride in this morning...My boss is still a bastard. He has been working at bitching at everyone in the office today one at a time, with particular focus on anyone who is friends with Yolanda (since she reported his misbehavior to the director). He smiled and said hello to me, which gives me pause because I know he hates me.It was either an ADD moment in which he smiled and said hello before he had a chance to think (about how much he hates me), or more likely, he is up to something. Bastard.
