Have I mentioned that I love Fuse the television channel? I think I have. It is all that MTv used to be. After a night of movie watching, I flipped to Fuse and was turned on to a few bands I had not really heard much (or anything ) of before.

Electricsix  piqued my curiosity with multiple Abe Lincolns singing "Gay Bar"
Music to dance to. Videos to stare at with a "huh" look. There was just something about watching an Abe Lincoln pole dance line.
Apparently they do a great cover of Radio Ga Ga. I have not downloaded it yet, but reports on the web say it is great.

I have heard ofdance-punk band  Le Tigre before, but I almost never get to hear them. They were on tonight with TKO.  They happen to do a killer Cover of  Pointer Sisters' I'm so excited with a regge bridge.

While searching the web, found that there is a Le Tigre livejournal community [livejournal.com profile] __le_tigre

This was the second time I have seen the video for The Postal Service's  Such Great Heights. There is something about it that reminds me of the 80's, but in the obsure 80's band kind of way. Cannot put my finger on it. Yet...

Last Thursday I came home to a stinky house. Not cat box stinky. Not that damn candle I hate but my sister still lights stinky. It was filling the house with noxious fumes. We still don't know what it was, but it was seriously funky and smelled not just bad, but dangerous.

Now, my sister is a great cook. She doesn't need a microwave, but she is busy enough and deserves one. I personally cannot hardly cook rice. I am lucky I know how to put together a bowl of cereal and milk. Gourmet to me, is adding peanuts to my cornflakes. (That happens to be delicious).

Fini set out today to hunt down a microwave. She called and had a few options. We are limited by lack of funds and our strong rule of no white appliances. We decided on this model:
The Westinghouse Beyond Microwave

Fini pulled on the handle and it popped off. She was a bit freaked till she found out she didn't break the handle, it has a scanner. It will scan the UPC symbole on packaged foods and it cooks it according to the directions. If it doesn't have the info in memory, you simply scan it, cook it according to directions, and the next time you scan it, it remembers. Very cool. I have a geek microwave.

A post by [livejournal.com profile] colbyfan  reminded me of a funny neighbor situation we had a few years back.

We had a neighbor move in a few doors down. His parents lived in the vey wealthy neighborhood across the street, so our drunk old snotty white trash landlord thought he must be good people. We of course smelled a junkie from a mile away. He was nasty. Everytime he opened his door, he would make some heinous snorting sound and hock a lugie on the ground. We actually called him hock-a-lugie. My son was about 4 or 5 at the time and was a sponge like all children are.
One day we are walking in the gate and Con sees the man and says, "HI Hockalugie!"  When the man didn't respond, he said it again. We had to tell him inside that was not his name.
he skipped out on the rent and we never saw him again.
