I swear I am so sick of extreme politics on both sides. The ridiculous lies spouted on the ignorant, hate filled, ass faces on Robert's radio to the liberal equivalent on Air America.

I guess it would be asking too much for people to shut the fuck up and just listen for a little bit to the other side if for nothing else then trying to understand where the other side is coming from and why they feel the way they do.

The bullshit about the ACLU has started already in blogging and in email forwards. How about for just once, before forwarding that stupid email that someone sends you (conservative or liberal or moronic urban legend) you check it out first before freaking out "WHAT?!! I am having my rights trampled on!?!? Let me alert everyone on my email list!!!!"

stolen from [profile] popfiend who yoinked from someone else. Christianity I can get behind.

There are two Christianities in our midst. One worships a punitive father and seeks obedience at all costs. It is patriarchal, demonizes woman, the earth, science, gays, lesbians, and deep thought. It builds on fear and it supports empire-builders. Its theology includes a punitive father in the sky and teaches original sin. The other Christianity recognizes the original blessing that all beings derive from. We recognize awe, not sin, not guilt, as the starting point of true religion. We recognize a divinity who is source of all things and is as much mother as father, as much female as male. We honor creation and diversity. When God created everything, He pronounced it all good.

We are here to make love to life. Yes, we are here to make love to life. Delight in creation and take your dreams into our politics and institutions. We live in the midst of a suicidal economy, motivated by love of money. We have reached a dead end. What we need to turn it around are hearts in love with life. How do we do it? We first must move from domination to partnership, and we begin by educating our young in awe and wonder, not how to take tests. Awe leads to reverence, which leads to gratitude, which will reinvent our species. This is the task of our generation: to regain awe. The three Rs need to be balanced by the ten Cs: contemplation, creativity, chaos, compassion, courage, critical consciousness, community, celebration, ceremony, and character.

As I was coming home last night, La Loca was driving off. She played "Two bits and a haircut" on her car horn and really laid on the horn for the last note. She didn't see me, so I think it was just a good bye to the apartments and the residents. I am glad she left in the dark. That car of hers will never make it in the sun. I am not entirely sure it will make it out of the city.

She had said in the appeal trial that she was getting a FEMA trailer and just needed a week. She took the full two weeks. I hope she does have something waiting for her. I hope she has a counselor and some meds waiting for her, too. She is simply one of the saddest things I have ever seen. I think it must be very hard for her having to be evicted and go back to Louisiana on the anniversary of the hurricane that sent her here.

Everyone give wishes and prayers for a better future for La Loca.

Backstory: I cannot lean or recline while watching a movie. If I do, BAM! I am asleep. Fini calls it "tipping over" I can sleep sitting up, I can sleep leaning forward, I can sleep where it is loud, or where it is silent. The point  I am making is I can sleep better than any of you.

Fini: I have figured out the reason you watch movies over and over again. You are just watching for parts you missed when you tipped over and fell asleep

Me: Shut up. You are just jealous.

Fini: Of what? Missing the end of every movie I start to watch?

Me: No! of being able to sleep anywhere, any position, anytime, anyhow.

Fini: I am not jealous. You are going to wake up one day on the bus with a hobo holding your boob.

Me: **fumes**
