I'm tired

I got home late last night, and then had to go to the ATM to make deposit of some cash and a check from my sister for some art she bought online (I did the payment from my paypal)

This morning, I meant to get up early, but that didn't happen. When we got out to the car, the check was on the front seat. Crappity. I had to call the bank, then make a second deposit.

It took 30 minutes for my bus to come, then when it finally did, it took forever to get to work. My total commute time was over an hour. I live 5 1/2 miles from work. It was standing room the whole time, and I felt like I was on the last helicopter out of Saigon. What you cannot see are the 8-10 other little tiny hispanic women tucked down in between people in this crowd. I don't know what the hell they were holding on to. They were too tiny to reach the overhead bar or even the straps that hang down.

Today's featured Wikipedia article is Houston, Texas.

I learned:
We are the 6th largest City (I thought we were 4th) [livejournal.com profile] wakeupkent showed me my error. We are 4th largest
There are around 5.5 million people (I thought it was  3.5 million)
Amtrack still runs through Houston
Our Life flight service was the first and still the largest air emergency service
More heart surgeries are performed in the Texas Medical Center than anywhere else in the world

All the other cool stuff, I pretty much knew. People shit on Texas all the time (especially since Bush has been president and Tom Delay is such a skeevy little bastard) but there is an awful lot of wonderful things here-especially in Houston.

So, if you are not from here, clicky on the link and get to know my home.
