Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze

My little tiny baby boy turned 14 today.

We had two of his friends over for a junk food-movie marathon-video game sleepover.

clicky here for stinky adorable teenage boys )

I miss my little baby, but I am awfully fond of my 14 year old as well.

His Nana and Poppy came over yesterday for cake, lunch, and hugs. He gets to go to Borders with his gift cards from Nana and Poppy and Alex and will be loading up on Manga I am sure.

Nearly 10 years ago, 2 adults and a boy tied Robert Middleton to a tree, doused him in gasoline, and set him on fire, burning him on 99% of his body.

The news story was heart wrenching when I first heard it, and it hasn't changed any.

What IS amazing is the progress he has made. The ordeal he has gone through seems like more than any person can bear, but he has come a long way.

He was on the news tonight because he is testing a video game for the Shriners' Hospital in Galveston. It helps reduce pain for the patience while undergoing treatments, by taking them into a virtual world of snowmen and mammoths.
