Connor Rock!
Mar. 3rd, 2005 02:27 pmConnor seems to have been making a change lately. He has been taking a better attitude toward his school work. It is about time. We are more than halfway through 5th grade....
Today I recieved this email:
Marilyn -
I overslept this morning and Connor ended up waiting for me for nothing - I am very sorry. I apologized to him too.
He then voluntarily offered to finish the test at lunchtime even though it was my fault it didn't get done in the AM. He finished up quickly, started working on something else, and then did research on deep sea animal adaptations (something that had come up in the morning as a result of a discussion on air and water pressure). After lunch, he then did an impromptu presentation for the class on these adaptations and got everyone very excited and interested, and then kids were grabbing books and showing each other MORE deep sea adaptations they had seen in the class library - VERY exciting stuff!! I am really proud of him and think he is feeling pretty good about things - he enjoyed being the "expert" and watching everyone get excited about what he had taught them. :-)
Thought you would like to hear some good news!! Yay for Connor!!
What a good day for Con!
