More frienditto info: some protection for Livejournallers

type ban_set frienditto into the window and press the button. That
will keep away frienditto directly. (note:
I've learned that this is only an RSS feed. You will not be protected
from people who make screencaps, or folks who decide to post the
friends' only posts that you share with them through your friend's
list.)

Frienditto is currently down I think, but is something that was set up where dumbasses entered in their lj name and password (yes, their password) it archived their entries that they wanted archived. That included their friends posts that were made friends only.

That's not a list of who has signed up for the site, it's a list of journals that have been archived by the site. And banning the user frienditto won't keep your entries from ebing archived if someone on your friends list has given the site their username and password.

I don't even know what frieditto is, but I banned them because it just doesn't sound too nice.

Sorry...I normally don't pop into folks' journals and comment but I had to mention that the list they have are of the folks who's posts have been sent to Frienditto without their permission. Some...bastard sent my one and ONLY open post to Frienditto and now it's there for all to see, not that it was private or anything. I certainly didn't mind sharing it with folks who dropped by my journal but I have an issue with folks archiving it to another site without my express permission.

I just discovered this today when a friend let me know that my name was on that bloody list. So now all is private and friends only again:-(

Yes. Some of them are irreputably assholes, although there are some very nice folks as well. I'll take the nice folks and blow off the others. They mean nothing to me.

I can't even tell you have aggravated I am over this frienditto bullshit. I have a reason for having a private journal. I keep alot of my info private because I'm still in hiding from an ex husband who's still hellbent on causing me bodily harm for daring to leave him (i.e., attemped murder). This almost 7 years after I dared to do the "impossible". I have a vested interest in keeping my exact location and other vital info away from him.
I'm thinking it's time to start culling my friend list again. Just in case.
