W00T. Dec of 2003, I had dropped my sister off at the geneology library and
Con and I were going to go shopping for her for Xmas. I got less than a
quarter mile away and stopped at the stoplight by the museum district. Some
fool was riding low and on a cellphone and didn't stop until he hit us in
the rear. He actually took a few minutes to get out of the car. I thought
maybe he was considering bolting. Maybe he just needed to finish up his
oh-so-important phone call. I pulled out my sis's insurance and my license
and he produced no insurance. I asked him where it was and he said, "I ain't
got any."
"What do you mean 'I ain't got any'?" I asked. I was a little pissy. This
was not my car. He said it was his girlfriend's car. I pointed out that he
certainly knew that she didn't have any. I exchanged phone numbers, license
info, and copied down his plate. He had my number, but didn't call to ask if
we got an estimate. We took it to Geico and then to the shop. When Geico
contacted him later in the week to tell him he was going to have to pay them
back, he then decided to call me and ask how much it was and try to make
arrangements to pay. Nice try shmuck.
I had to come up with $250 for the deductible. I got info later that his
license was revoked. Heh!
Last week my sister got a check from Geico for the $250 deductable. Yea! He
must have paid.
I wonder if he got his license back?
