Fini Pie Fini Pie

Fini's birthday is coming up on Saturday and David and Skyler's birthday party brunch was this Saturday. Caryn and family were sweet enough to include Fini as well. They each got their own cake type thing and Fini loves pecan pie. This is the prettiest pecan pie I have ever seen. Caryn made it herself.

The kiddo's recieved B & N gift cards and books from us. Karen is getting a Purse Bright. I swear she asked for this. She even ordered the thing herself and just used my card. She should not be allowed to watch TV too late at night.

Work is going well. The house hunt is getting exciting.

I am for the first time reading Enders Game. Why didn't any of you tell me how good that book is?!?! Sheesh.

My introduction to Pecan Pie was from my Grandma's kitchen where she crushed up the pecans so that Grandpa could eat the pie with ease. Later in life did I see these pies with whole pecan halves and go "wtf, that's just WRONG". I've gotten better about it but my recipe still calls for crushed/chopped pecans :)

Also I'm sorry for not telling you the awesomeness that is Enders Game. I read it for the first time about a year ago and loved it. I did get confused on a couple of "battle" parts where I just couldn't picture it but other than that, perfectimo!

hahah. Jane Erye is rocking me out at the moment. Took me forever to get into but after about 75 pages I was all "oh hells yeah erye!".

Also sort of reading The Red Tent, a biblical story about Dinah from her POV. It's also pulling me in.

Though I do need to start reading Library Journals and Information Sciences Journals/Books and knock off the luxury reading :(

Enders Game is an awesome book. I haven't read it since my sophmore year in high school, but now thanks to your post I am going to put it on my list to read again.

I hope your house hunting goes well.

awesome book. the rest of the series is decent. but, when he starts the series from bean's point of view, it becomes almost as awesome again.

good omens by terry pratchett and neil gaiman. hilarious and VERY wrong take on the apocalypse. a riot. highly recommended. and catch-22 by joseph heller. words cannot describe this book.

now i'm hungry. especially for pecan pie.

I was so excited to find the story continues. Finished the book last night. One of the best books I have read.
