Date: 2006-09-27 06:29 pm (UTC)The only thing that REALLY irks me is his whole "I want the ten commandments and prayer back in schools" thing.
*shrug* they're all politicians. I appreciate Kinky's honest about his douchey-ness. But that doesn't make me like him for it.

Date: 2006-09-27 06:40 pm (UTC)I don't think he's any more racist than any other politician, and I don't think his jokes are any worse than Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy's stand up from back in the 70s and 80s.

Date: 2006-09-27 06:51 pm (UTC)Kinky, as a potential governor, hasn't impressed me. I've yet to find any of his agenda that isn't vague/obtuse, so I really don't know all that much that he's about. As a character, I like him. I think if he wins, he's going to fall flat on his face. But that doesn't make me dislike him really, so much as be apathetic.
It really is a lesser of evils though. Republicians make me fucking angry beyond anything because of the sacrifice of personal right, and democrats make me want to punt them in the face because of the hypocrisy and irrational idealism.
And plus, you'll never see Perry or Bell dressed like this:

Date: 2006-09-27 07:32 pm (UTC)Look at it this way: is Blazing Saddles a racist movie? It uses has lines like, "Don't waste any horse, send a couple of niggers instead," and "Nobody moves or the nigger gets it!" But if you've seen the movie, it is making fun of racism. The lines taken out of context are inflammatory; in context they are funny (if not in good taste).
This is much ado about nothing.
