I am going to have to look into this some more before I commit my vote to
Kinky. Boy I hope this is bullshit

He's kind of a douche.

The only thing that REALLY irks me is his whole "I want the ten commandments and prayer back in schools" thing.

*shrug* they're all politicians. I appreciate Kinky's honest about his douchey-ness. But that doesn't make me like him for it.

I think actions speak louder than words. He may tell offensive jokes, but he also picketed a segregated restaurant in Austin in the 60s to make it integrated.

I don't think he's any more racist than any other politician, and I don't think his jokes are any worse than Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy's stand up from back in the 70s and 80s.

I agree. And I appreciate someone who isn't overly padded and PC about everything, like every other goddamned politician out there. It's refreshing to hear a wetback joke from a politician.

Kinky, as a potential governor, hasn't impressed me. I've yet to find any of his agenda that isn't vague/obtuse, so I really don't know all that much that he's about. As a character, I like him. I think if he wins, he's going to fall flat on his face. But that doesn't make me dislike him really, so much as be apathetic.

It really is a lesser of evils though. Republicians make me fucking angry beyond anything because of the sacrifice of personal right, and democrats make me want to punt them in the face because of the hypocrisy and irrational idealism.

And plus, you'll never see Perry or Bell dressed like this:

He's a comedian who named his backup band "The Texas Jewboys." The quotes are taken from humor material and are out of context. Richard Pryor used the word Nigger in his routines. Don't even get me started on Carlos Mencia and his use of the the term Beaners.

Look at it this way: is Blazing Saddles a racist movie? It uses has lines like, "Don't waste any horse, send a couple of niggers instead," and "Nobody moves or the nigger gets it!" But if you've seen the movie, it is making fun of racism. The lines taken out of context are inflammatory; in context they are funny (if not in good taste).

This is much ado about nothing.
