Okay, so I don't eat meat. October will be 12 years without the meat. I use meat substitute for my protien. I LOVE Morningstar brand corndogs, so I thought I would try their "bacon strips"

Odd. Really freaking odd. I liked it. I will eat it again, but they are freaky.

The instructions said to microwave until crisp. I picked them up and couldn't fathom them getting crisp. They felt like those sheets of foam that are used for crafts in school

That is not fat, so yeah.. they are going to come out that shape and color

Those are crisp. I swear. I snapped them into smaller pieces and made a BLT.  I did like the taste. I ate 2 slices plain. The house smells sort of  like bacon.

I'm glad that you've brought this up. This diet that my hubby & I are going on *next payday* is mostly vegetarian. I was looking at the different kinds of veggie stuff out there & wondered what actually tasted good. I'll put Morning Star bacon on the list. :)

hell. Put morning star corndogs on there too. They are delicious.

At fiesta, I buy Leanies (red box) they are the only veggie hot dogs I like.

I used to do a vegetarian day and I enjoyed the burger patties.

I haven't done that in a couple or three years though.

I got really sick of those quickly. I prefer the black bean to the TVP burgers

Are you going mostly veg by eating fish? I did that for a long time. I can tell you how to make some delicious salmon :)

http://www.vrg.org/ is a good website

They really are pretty good. Karen said they tasted like "bacon chips"

Whatever bacon chips taste like. If you are not expecting it to taste and feel like a piece of bacon, they are good (as will all meat substitutes)

She probably meant those little fake bacon crisps for salads.

I never had microwaved bacon of any sort come out crispy. You gots to fry them omgz.

I stock Morningstar and some other brand (Boca?) at my new job. The stuff looks really good. If I could afford it maybe eating that stuff I could become a vegetarian, but otherwise I just like meat way too much. I'm a carnivore and stuff.

One thing i'll never understand about vegetarian meals is why they bother to shape the items to look like the meat version.

Why have tofu shaped like a hotdog, or bacon strips.

Do they have vegan chicken drumsticks too?

bizzare :-D

I am pretty sure they do have vegan chicken drumsticks.. like the little ones.. like buffalo wings. I think I have seen them.

I don't know. Maybe it is so their food doesn't look like little blobs or slabs of gray soy. lol

We are used to seeing food a certain way.

Wow, I don't even think I knew you were a vegetarian! I am too--almost 14 years now--EEEEK! I know never say never, but I really can't imagine ever eating meat again.

I LOVE Morningstar Bacon. And their Sausage Patties. Unfortunately the bacon has egg in it and I am trying to cut back on my dairy. Bummer. :( At least it's there if I need it!

MUST TRY!!!
