I am grateful that they have gone with the option my immediate manager was pushing of reduction in hours instead of layoffs. I don't want to be without a job and I don't wany anyone else to be, either. I can budget for a 4 day work week. Budgeting for a no day work week is a lot harder.

My company went through that earlier this year, laying off like 30 people. We've swung back and are hiring again. It's a fickle business especially with the huge foreclosures, predatory lending and all that finally coming out.

Glad you're safe though.

Me too. First American is about to layoff some more next week. Chicago title has been laying off steadily (I left them to come here a year and a half ago). Fidelity and Stewart title have been laying off like crazy.

I'll cross my fingers for you! That is so stressful anytime of year, but especially this time.
