Con's First Sparring session

After Con got his blue belt and his sparring gear (mostly thanks to his Nana) he had his first sparring session last night. The video is craptacular quality, but here it is. He is the little one in the red sparring gear.

This is a video from the Meyerland Martial Art's (Con's school) 11th anniversary and grand opening of the new Do-jang. here are the highlights.

What a nice facility. Wish we had something half that awesome here.

My oldest took taekwondo. Just your standard structured classes. But watching your son reminds me of my daughter. They're sparring, taking it easy, when really you know they wish they could just unleash a can of whoop ass.

Does your son watch Ultimate Fighting?

he does not watch ultimate fighting. Then again, since his grades have been sucking so very hard, he hasn't watched any tv in about 9 weeks.

I like that Con is aggressive in class. He is not bullyish, but he really goes full on in class. He wants to be the best. He kicks higher and harder than anyone else. He pays close attention to everything the teachers say and do. He wants to be really good at this. He is. I just wish he would think his grades are as important
