Goal is to have a laptop for me by the end of the summer. I have wanted one for a long time. I am going to have one.

I can put aside $40.00 a pay period and I will be able to afford one by the end of the summer.

You can go thru Dell and they will do payment plans.. Same with QVC.. just a thought..

Bought my first lappie Ev-ah over the summer. Wonderful things, they are.

Add in the extended warranty. And an external drive for backups...

external drives found at microcenter for the cheap. memory can be upgraded rather cheaply.
depends on if you want to go with a particular company. I'd stay away from vista right now.it needs at least 2gb of ram to run and you will have very little left for your apps. Also you could request when ordering your laptop that they downgrade back to xp. if you decide on dell let me know. I deal with dells all day and own one myself.
