Love Song

After I dumped Robert, I didn't want to hear Love Song by the Cure anymore because that was our song. I even had my sister change the station once when it came on.

Disintegration is one of the albums on my itunes at work. Love Song came on. I was going to change it like I have been doing , and then thought, "No. He cannot ruin this song for me. He can't ruin anything for me. He is nothing now. I loved this song when it came out and I still do. It still makes me want to dance and spin around the room and it has nothing to do with him. "

So, I get my song back. Mine. Not ours. Mine

After I made that post where I saw he married that chick 3 months after he stopped stalking me and I laughed so hard, my BFF Lu told me to watch out for emotional rollercoasters and to call her if I needed. I didn't get any. All I got was the lulz.

So now I am wondering if I am broken, or if I am cold, or didn't feel for him as deeply as I thought I did.

Maybe it just means he is a real prick and I am just grateful to be rid of him and there is nothing wrong with me.

I'm glad you got your song back. Don't ever let anyone take something away from you that you love.

Disintegration is one of my favorite all time albums and is also on my mp3 player. Of course my mp3 player would seem to be that of a guy in his mid-late 30s, not a 26 year old :)

here are some of the artists on the mp3 player pre 1990
the cure
duran duran (though i do have their newest album, Red Carpet Massacre circa 2007. which rox)
journey
foreigner
tears for fears

and yeah, if exes ruined songs for me, i'd be missing out on a lot of good ones so fuck that

it is really solid, and unlike their last recent album attempt they did bring something modern to it

I love that song too. Have you heard the remake by 311 on the "50 First Dates" soundtrack? It's pretty good too.

I don't know the song (or The Cure for that matter), but I'm glad you're over Robert and can enjoy it again.

Yes, when I taught high school social studies in the 80s some of my students matched that description. I hope they've grown out of it. :)

I so love that song. I love that whole cd. It's one of mine and my ex-husband's, too. Every time I hear it I think of South Park, though. "Disintegration is one of the best album ever!"
