Over the years, words from many languages have influenced the English vocabulary, adding to the richness of our language and culture. Yiddish and Hebrew, languages spoken primarily by Jews, are two of the many sources of enrichment of North American English.
You are invited to take this survey, the first of its kind to ask North Americans about the words from Yiddish and Hebrew they may use or recognize. The survey should take you 15-20 minutes. The only people who will see your responses are members of the research team, and your responses will remain totally confidential. Obviously, your participation in this study is entirely optional, and you may stop at any time. This study is limited to those 18 or older.
