Virus be gone

I have been online for quite a bit now without my computer shutting down. Maybe the virus is gone. I have ran 4 different virus checks and none have found sasser virus. I did find 2 trojans and they are gone now (but pc was still shutting down after they were gone).
I was able to stay on long enough to download the microsoft windows updates and maybe that took care of everything.
I am just grateful that it is working better and I didn't have to do an F-disk format and recovery...again.

look in C:\WINNT\ and look for an AVSERVE.EXE or AVSERVE2.EXE if they are there... delete it.

it could also have been something as simple as over heating. when was the last time you clean out yer pc(with a can of compressed air)?


I can't count the number of times I had to do pc repeair to find the land of the dustbunnies had moved into a user's pc.
