So the ever"loving" American Family Assholes are apparently upset that Hallmark will be selling Gay Marriage cards.

This is their letter they want you to send.

Dear Chairman Hall:

I am surprised that Hallmark is promoting an unhealthy lifestyle which is illegal in 48 states. There was a time Hallmark told us to send the very best. Sorry to see you have taken a giant step down. No more.

American Greeting Cards, your competitor, will be getting my business.

THIS however is my letter.

Dear Chairman Hall:

I am surprised that Hallmark didn't include Gay Marriage cards sooner. There was a time Hallmark told us to send the very best, and now they mean it. Great to see you have taken a giant step up. I will always make sure I buy Hallmark!

Thank you AFA for allowing me to use your site to send wonderful letters to people who deserve it!

Feel free to send one. http://www.afa.net/Petitions/Issuedetail.asp?id=329

How are regular marriage cards any different from gay marriage cards? I mean usually they are 'to the bride' or 'to the groom' , and the ones that aren't are to 'the loving couple'

I guess they could say 'to the grooms' or 'to the brides' or 'hoping for a fantabulous flower arrangement'

I am not trying to be douche-y (ok except for the last comment) about it but I really would like to know what some of these cards say that makes them 'gay friendly' compared to traditional cards.

Most of the cards out there are written vague enough that they would work just fine for a gay couple. The only example provided in the article was a card with two tuxedos on it. This indicates to me that for some reason homosexual couples have to be given cards that advertise that they are homosexual? Doesn't really make sense to me. I have seen a handful of cards that have a bride and groom pictured on the cover, but I never get those, I usually get ones that have a nice scenery or a picture of a gazebo or crap like that, they are plentiful. Also the wording in these cards generally doesn't say , "I am so happy for you two falling in love, being a man and a woman and all"

I can see where maybe some kitschy cards would be cool for gay people, like comical ones, but I just don't get it for the marriage aspect. In any event, I guess this can be considered a small victory in their community and that's cool.

If you've ever gone searching for a card for a same sex wedding, you'd see that finding some appropriate can be a challenge. So many cards have a little illustration of wedding dress and a tuxedo, or something else that is very hetero-wedding specific.

these have like 2 tuxes, and a fairly generic message. I am sure the ones for women have something to indicate two women

i've seen a gay wedding where one of the women wore a tuxedo and the other a dress, why doesn't that work?

It would work just fine. Rarely do you see a man in a wedding gown, though

It would work for that particular wedding. It doesn't work for every wedding, hence more options in cards.
