I think Palin is a goofy pick for McCain (hell, I am THRILLED he picked her) but the internet is going stupid. It has been a few days and already there are rumors of her being a lesbian, her being the grandmother, not the mother of her baby, and that she posed for nude photos.

Sweet Christ. No wonder the world thinks we are a joke.

Not saying that, as someone who's gay himself that would be pretty stupid. The point is Republicans run around saying they are the party of morals, that's why when one of them is outed for being gay or having a gay affair it's made into a big thing. If they didn't make big deals over something so stupid, i doubt people care that much.

Palin is VERY anti-abortion, anti-condom, anti-sex ed and I think it's really amusing that her daughter might have ended up pregnant.

no. That isn't exactly how they are looking at it. I compare it to the glee when we find out that a anti-gay rights, fundie conservative gets outed for soliciting gay sex. It is because they assert that THEY are the party on the side of family values, and moral values (as they see them). The left doesn't all of a sudden say "HA! Being gay is WRONG!" they are just tickled that those who seem to see gays as second class citizens love the cock as well.

I am worried that either people will get too caught up in rumors and make themselves look bad or they will just simply dismiss her as a joke. (I know I've poked some fun, too.) But in the end it could cost the election. Because I don't feel she is a deciding factor.

I'm so tired of hearing that Palin should be taking care of her family instead of running for VP ... like she was too stupid to take her family situation into consideration when she made the decision to accept the position. Obama has young children, so why aren't people breathing down his neck about taking care of his family instead of running? Oh wait, it's because he is a man. And god forbid that Palin's husband might have to step up to the plate and be a dad.

Anyway, like I said, I will be glad when the election is over. I'm tired of hearing about all the crap. I have no idea where either candidate stands on any issue because nobody talks about petty little things like that. Only *really important* things like who is the baby-mama, who's sleeping with whom, who isn't married and who is gay. I definitely can't wait for the speeches, debates and election stats to interfere with my primetime shows, either.
