Alan sent this to me. I don't understand. What kind of stupid do you have to be to throw on a bikini and go to a bar to drink the night away when you have been told the island will be underwater?

It is weird to look at people and think, "there is a strong chance they are going to die tonight"

Con watched the coverage all day with me on TV and now he is good and properly freaked. He is going to sleep in my room tonight. I am hoping if we have to take cover, the cats will be easily located.

Wow. I really want to feel badly for those people, but I just can't since they had every single warning to get out.

wasn't just a warning, man. The authorities said MANDATORY EVACUATION and they told everyone "leave or die"

I don't understand these people. It isn't like with others where they said, "oooh..this is nasty, you might want to go"

And when the storm was 200 miles out this morning and there were streets that were already 8 feet underwater because of the surge while it was sunny and pretty out, they should have taken off running.

These are the kinds of dumbshits that would see the ocean retreat because of a tsunami and go follow it out saying, "where ya going, Mr. Ocean?"

So far I've seen three people on the news and one in a picture that I know from when I lived in Galveston. I hope they are all fine.

Some how KHOU setup a special channel with directv and we've been watching thier newscast all day...kinda errie, no sports, no commercials, just them and IKE's demolition. Lots of stuff destroyed on Galveston, boats and crap all over the expressways, kemah is flooded and the coast guard has already rescued over 100 people. Including 3 idiots that went through Rita on this fishing pier and thought they would be ok ON A PIER for Ike.....They need to be charged for the rescue. Galveston - Hooters is gone, balinese room is gone, flagship has major damage including the concrete bridge/pier to get to it is in the water.
