The puppy is really enjoying being someplace safe with food and water. He is good and tells us when he needs to go outside. Unfortunately, he also expects us to go hang outside with him. I don't always WANT to go hang outside.

Neither do I, but I suck it up. Henry loves being outside, so I haul my lazy broken ass out and at least go into the backyard with him. Henry has kept me off my ass/out of bed so my ass doesn't get any bigger than it is. Dogs are good exercise.
I concur with the previous commenter. LOOK AT THAT FACE. Now that I get a better look at him, in the top one he def. does not look greyhound...just an undernourished lab.
Well, I have shit to do, so while I go out there occasionally, I am not sitting out there for 30-60 minutes at a time all the time.
I went out with him for a while this morning while he explored and pottied. I bought a harness yesterday, but I forgot the leash. I will walk him later and we can have some lovely excersize.
If you do give him up, be very discerning in who you give him to. Even at Lisa's there are dogs constantly being adopted and returned the same day. Henry is not the only one this has happened to. It happens all the time because people are really fucking stupid. And this is in the freaking earth conscious animal lovin' Bay Area. I can't imagine what it's like down there where fat Jabbas get to lock up dogs in an overheated house with no food/water or where 6-year-old kids sell guinea pigs out the back of a truck (when I was with my cousins, that's what I saw in the mall parking lot). I have to admit that more often than not, Animal Cops: Houston beats out Animal Cops: San Francisco (though I think the worst is Detroit).
The only good part about the whole bringing-back-the-dogs-the-same-day is that Cali Underdogs gets to keep their adoption fee even if they bring the dog back the same day...which is good because they need it for supplies and meds and stuff for the dogs they bring in.
Call him George and hug him and love him and hug him and love him. ;D Though he looks like a Zippy or a Ziggy to me. Heh. "Ziggy". Wiggy and Ziggy. ;)
We would never give an animal to a stranger we were unsure of. Anytime we look for a home for an animal, either we know them or a friend knows them well and can assure us that the animal will be well cared for.
