Okay, now I do not dig Adam Lambert. I am sick of that cheesy little girl and I want Adam to go away and hit Broadway where he belongs.

They did country night on AI tonight.

While I am not an Adam Lambert fan, I am a big Johnny Cash fan. He picked Ring of Fire. I groaned.

But wait.. it had sitars and he was bending his voice in a clever, clever way. This was like Johnny Cash meets Led Zepelin. I loved it.

And yes, I know Adam is a good singer. Doesn't mean I am not sick of him. Beyonce is a good singer and I cannot stand the sound of her voice either. At least that heifer isn't always winking into the damn camera.

I think his range is amazing and I think he's a great performer/singer but he could have taken any song and mangled it in this manner and it would have sounded the same. Why mangle a classic?

Just my 2 cents.

I didn't think it was a mangle. I really enjoy songs arranged for different genres if they are done well. It probably helps that I really enjoy sitar.

there are few situations wherein liking a sitar would help but this was probably one of them :)

I don't think this had to happen is what I meant. I didn't hate it but it was almost unrecognizable. To me that's mangling, not just changing the arrangement, especially with the unnecessary runs and liberties he took towards the middle and end.

the best part of the song was definitely not his 80's hair band squealing. I did dig the arrangement though, and that was someone else's doing.

I thought it was brilliant!! :D

I need to purchase the download asap!!!

I would have never expected to be so thoroughly entertained by American Idol on country music theme night!!!! (normally that's one of my least favorite nights because I generally don't like the twangy country songs (though I will admit there are still exceptions to that rule), so tonight I was pleasantly surprised to hear so many of the idols changing up the songs so they didn't sound so country-ish ;)

Damn. I hate all things Idol, especially after last year's uber-sucky season, but that was WONDERFUL. Wow. I want to hear the whole thing.

He's EXTREMELY talented, wow!

I've been meaning to ask this of someone for years, but I always forget about it. Everyone I know from Houston hate Beyonce. Which, granted, is like 10 people out of 5 million, but still. I've heard some really nasty things said about her and a total denial that she's really Houstonian, kind of like how I deny that Fred Phelps is a Kansan. What's up with that?

I am not in denial that she is a Houstonian, and she is INCREDIBLY popular here, however, I cannot stand the sound of her voice and when she speaks, she sounds stupid to me. I don't dig her. But I have never heard anything about her being a nasty person to anyone or anything .
