so much television, so little time

My sister and I am both a wonderful and horrid influence on my son. Our television is on all the damn time. It is on a little less this year that before, but it is still a lot. We also talk and read and net surf while it is on, but if my life had theme music, it would be BBC America and other television.

My 10 year old had started coming home Monday nights during the summer and wanting my sister to turn on BBC america, because he got hooked on the mysteries. Now he is hooked on Monty Python. Last night we introduced him to The Young Ones and Black Adder. Now he digs those too. He woke up today talking about The Young Ones.

I cannot wait till he is up late enough to watch The Office, Crank Yankers, and all the other crap I watch.

oh hush. He gets that too. He is a 10 year old American child who is Trilingual (though he is losing one of those.. I need to work with him on that). For the US, that is impressive. He also tests post high school on reading and he is still in elementary school. He also posted post high school in Social Studies. I am not worried about him not getting in enough reading. we have to tell him to put the books down to do somethings (and cringe each time we say it, but it seems so wrong.)

british humor, what more could you ask for. It's entertaining and sometimes educational (requires you to think about what they are making fun of, with all the british/english differences). Good going, introducing him to Monty Python, next you will have to rent all the movies.
