I am really disturbed by the US
District courts decision
that evidence gained by torture for the
detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is admissible.  In public
the US has pledged its commitment to human dignity is
"non-negotiable" but in the detention centers we disregard and
skirt international laws regarding to conditions and treatment for
prisoners.

The US is using evidence gained
soley by torture for several of the detainees which not only is against
international, but US due process standards.

We would be having a hissy if US citizens were being treated the
same way elsewhere. We have heard of this before. Our prisoners of war in
Vietnam were tortured to give confessions of guilt. We would never assume
that our soldiers were really guilty of the crimes some had confessed to
under the torture.

This is not the first time
the US has gained confessions by torture. We
have been known to do it to our own citizens.

This is disturbing.

But then again,
I can see how I could accept it as well. If someone had killed someone I
love and I was certain of it, would I care how their admission of guilt
was obtained? I would like to say that I would care that it was obtained
without  torture. I would want to be able to say it is irrefutable because
it was volunteered and I had no doubt about the validity. But I have never
been in that position. I may just want them to be tried and suffer.

You know what takes the vinigar right out of your attitude? What makes
you take a real hard look at how you are doing your job and the attitude
you carry? Watching your mananger clean out the desk of a coworker that
was fired this morning for something that you are currently written up
for.

Yessirree, bob, that sure does make a difference.

My sister works with a woman that recieved an email from her daughter this morning that said and looked like this:

I HAD A TRAIL OF ANTS THAT LED FROM MY BED ACROSS THE FLOOR INTO THE CLOSET AND WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THEY WERE COMING FROM. JUSTIN OF COURSE COULDN'T TALK FOR LAUGHING SO HELET DARIUS CALL ME DARIUS ASKED ME WAS HAT A SEX THING AND WHAT DID I DO WITH IT AND DID I PUT IT IN MY MOUTH WHEN I GO TO SLEEP TO HELP ME BREATH I ANSWERED NO TO ALL OF THIS OH BY THE WAY IT WAS A VIBRATOR HE FOUND I TOLD HIM I DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH IT SO HE ASKED ME WHY DID I HAVE IT AND THE QUESTIONS GOT SO HILARIOUS I COULDN'T BREATH FOR REAL FOR LAUGHTER SO NOW I KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN ABOUT KEEPING THINGS UNDER A LICK AND KEY. When I read it, I saw the same thing my sister saw. That he cooter is so nasty it draws ants. Amusing, but not what she meant when she wrote this. I shit you not this is exactly how she wrote it.

I would love to add something hilarious to this... but I think it speaks for itself.

We had a theme going with Con's school photos. All blue, then all green , I was thinking all amber this year since he looks good in yellow and orange.
When we got his pictures, they were awful. He looked sick. So  I sent him back for a retake. They didn't come back much better. I asked them to change the background, but they didn't ( looks washed out) and he is making a pained face. I still think he is beautiful, so here he is.

The green one was last year. The child is afraid of cameras
