Scientific American

I love Con's
mind.  He loves science. His science fair projects are always his highest
grade because he really gets into the demonstration. Despite his aversion
to public speaking, he is really good at it. His ability to tell a story
or demonstrate with a beautiful vocabulary is evident in his writing and
his explanation of a television show, a book, or a fact.

It is time
again for Science Fair and his aunt took him to the library this
weekend to pick up a bunch of books. He looked through them last night. He
came up with several great project ideas. What impressed me was his
ability to not just find a article to make, but to think up a hypothesis
to test on this. He fully  understands the whole scientific process. Such
a smart boy! He is making a boat out of styrofoam plates, a cup and a
straw and came up with a hypothosis about what would happen if the straw
were located higher or lower on the cup. I really look forward to helping
him with his project this year.

Ouch burn hot pain

There is one dish in this world that I love. I like other dishes, but love Pad Thai. I love everything about it. I love the
noodles, the sauce, the veggies, but most of all, I love the tofu. It is
the best ever. I get it from the best Thai restaraunt in Houston, PaTu's in the village.
I went to pick up some take out tonight and when I opened the box in the
kitchen, I could not wait to snatch up a piece of tofu and pop it in my
mouth.
BAD
Because all I could see was the delicious glistening
tofu on that beautiful pile of red saucey noodles, I couldn't see that
there was a little pile of Thai pepper on top of the tofu morsel of
heaven. I popped that baby in. Then the 5 minutes of a hollaring,
laughing, and wailing started. My tongue and lip was on FIRE. I accidentally licked my lip
afterwards and somehow this moistening of the lip reignited the fire just
as it was starting to die down.
I of course, got the hell over it
and got down on my pad thai. Delicious as usual.
