We have a lot of productive plants in the yard. I feel like after two years, I am always finding something new.

For instance, I do not recall seeing this plant (which I thought was a ginger plant, but apparently is not) with flowers before.

Now there are a ton of flowers about to open.

These grapes growing on a vine on our pergola look yummy, but we will never get any. The squirrels and birds will eat them before we get a chance. We look out the window and see the juice squirting across the patio when a bird is squeezing them with their beak.

We have done almost nothing to it. Some of the things we planted, but most of it is a result of the prior owner. He was an odd little man that apparently would find a plant he liked somewhere, brought it home and put it just any old place. while it makes for a wild unplanned wilderness out there sometimes, it is often just lush and nice. I am starting to find it charming instead of annoying.

I find it quite charming from the pictures.

Nature finds it's own balance and the eclectic mix has done that. It's rather nice.

Thanks for sharing.

you can have an orchid tree... come get it. :)

We have a big pretty orchid tree on the side and there are a few trees starting elsewhere. Con's friend Alex has a mother that came by and dug one up, but it was only one. We are thinking we are just going to put an ad on craigslist. (come dig it up and it is yours)

However, for a thanks, she brought us an avacado tree and a willow tree. Lovely, but I have no idea where to put them.

Orchids mean deer food.

No thanks.

deer food? We have deer on the outskirts of Houston, but nowhere near me, unless they have started climbing out of the bayou.

I have deer, my property borders Green Space. You can't build on it. And thus...deer.

deer eat orchids or orchid trees. Orchids don't grow on trees. They are awfully pretty though.

lol.

Not my tree, but this is an orchid tree
